The Rescue Act changed regarding chimney sweeping as of June 30, 2019, so that it is now the responsibility of the building owner/occupier to order chimney sweeping from an operator of their choice. However, the person performing the chimney sweeping work is still required to have a professional qualification as a chimney sweep.
