Archaeological research on the site of the former central school 16-17.7.2025

General

The Hamina City Planning Department has commissioned an archaeological study for the preparation of the city plan for block 65 of the Linnoitus district. The archaeological excavation and documentation on the site of the former central school will be carried out by Ark-byroo Oy. The site is located on the corner of Laurinkatu and Viipurinkatu. The aim of the study is to document a part of the lunette belonging to the Hamina fortification structures, which is likely to be located in the city plan amendment area and has not been examined in previous excavations.

Parking on the site is restricted starting July 15.7th.
