Participants of the regional national defense course visited the Town Hall

A week-long regional national defense course, focusing on regional and local cooperation and preparedness, started in Hamina today, September 15, 2025. The course is organized by the Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland together with the Karelian Brigade and is aimed at civilian and military personnel in leading positions.

The first training day ended with a reception by the City of Hamina at the Town Hall. The guests were received by the Chair of the City Council, Elina Inkeroinen-Lalu, the Chair of the City Board, Titta Erkkilä, and the Mayor, Ilari Soosalu. In addition to the welcome, the city representatives gave a brief overview of the history of the city and the Town Hall. In addition, the guests received an overview of current affairs in Hamina, such as investments in the area, the start of the new council term, and the ongoing strategy work.
