The City of Hamina participates in the Earth Hour environmental event on March 28, 2026
As usual, the city of Hamina is participating in the Earth Hour environmental event organized by WWF. This is an international environmental event that started in 2007 and has spread around the world. Turning off the lights is a symbolic gesture that shows concern about the acceleration of climate change and the loss of biodiversity. It is a beacon for decision-makers.
This year, Earth Hour will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The city of Hamina will participate by turning off the lights of the Taskalinmäki water tower, street lighting, and outdoor lights on properties. We also encourage all Hamina residents, including individuals, companies, associations, and other entities, to participate in the “Give an Hour to Nature” themed event with an action that suits them.
